La Guia Musical is an online music academy. We are oriented towards students of all ages and personalities. Our staff is conformed by a multidisciplinary group of professionals who give their best to achieve a fascinating experience for students during the learning process.
Thus, in the family of La Guía Musical, you will find musical educators who are in constant training to improve the musical learning of our apprentices. In summary, we are pursuing a common goal: to inspire and entertain our students through the integral teaching of music.
Our History
My name is Renatto Limo Giribaldi. I was born in the city of Chiclayo, Peru. I am a professional music teacher, and my path in music education began long before my career as a professional musician formally started. Since 2009, I have been dedicated to teaching music, an activity that has remained a central part of my professional life.
In 2015, while working on my undergraduate thesis, I began exploring different learning theories, which significantly influenced my educational approach. That same year, I formed a multidisciplinary team to develop an educational platform called La Guía Musical, where various musical instruments are taught through instructional videos on YouTube.
In 2016, I graduated from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), where I ranked first in the Music program. During 2017, I applied the insights from my research with my private students and with the school band at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe School, where I had conducted my thesis work. During this period, I became particularly interested in the principles of meaningful learning theory proposed by David Ausubel, which strongly shaped my teaching philosophy.
Over time, La Guía Musical expanded its services by offering in-home lessons. In 2018, I published two guitar teaching books based on the pedagogical approaches I developed during my studies, which produced very positive learning outcomes. With the arrival of the pandemic and the shift to virtual learning in 2020, we developed an agile online teaching methodology capable of achieving each student’s learning objectives without requiring in-person instruction.
As a result of this success, students from different regions of Peru and other parts of the world began enrolling in La Guía Musical. Currently, we have students in cities such as Lima, Arequipa, and Tacna, as well as internationally in Germany, Canada, Japan, and the United Kingdom.
In addition to my work in music education, I completed a Master’s degree in Cognition, Learning, and Development at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), widely recognized as the top university in Peru. This program, offered by the Faculty of Psychology, focuses on understanding the cognitive processes involved in learning and identifying the most effective ways to reach and support students in educational contexts.
Today, with more than a decade of experience in music education, La Guía Musical has grown into a solid educational project. Our YouTube channel has over 2,000 subscribers and more than 100,000 views, and we have the experience, tools, and pedagogical approach necessary to enrich our participants through music.
